Yeah, it hurts my head too.
When I'm not busy writing the greatest thesis of all time, I like to toothpaste Beefcake's (Brad Holden) face; and when I'm not busy doing that either, I like to go to shows. Tonight was excellent because I completed 2 of these favorite activities. (I am really sorry about that Brad)
So Ratatat was pretty much one of the greatest live shows ever. I'm always really enthusiastic about shows in general because they're so energetic and I really love that but this was just amazing. Last year I cut my live-DJ-set teeth on MSTRKRFT in the Rangos ballroom on Halloween which was, albeit random, life-affirming good. This is a really tough act to get started on because now I have super high expectations for these kinds of performances. During spring break I went with a friend to Philly just to see Justice which was even more random and perhaps even equally as good. Tonight was on a whim, and like so many decisions I make on a whim, it was just awesome. Totally not awesome however was the fact that I ran into my thesis professor and his wife (my coordinator) at the show. How does that happen?? Looks like I got a little thesis in after all. How lucky am I?
