This is a picture from inside a car as we took a nose dive off the side of a 40 ft dune that's easily at a 30 degree pitch. Duning (or dune bashing) is a popular weekend activity out in Sealine. It's incredibly dangerous (if you check out my flickr I caught a car rolling down one of these things) but I took the trip with some very experienced locals, and although my face was frozen in terror, I had a great time.

A couple years ago this would be the kind of thing I would flatly refuse to do. Obviously dangerous, I probably would have asked to be left at the bottom of the dune, or even more likely, would just have stayed home in the first place. There are those experiences in life that help make you who you are, and sometimes when I'm in a car kareening over a mountain of sand, I'm grateful I'm not so lame anymore.
