I'm spending my summer as a teaching assistant to the architecture pre-college program. It's easy to forget that students who are 16 have yet to develop a vocabulary beyond SAT requirements and in class I try introduce the difference between an approximation and an abstraction which illicits mostly just blank stares.
The first assignment was an abstracted line drawing, Composition_1. The most common question was "how do I know when it's finished?"
Good question, right? How do you know when something is finished?
